As devoted tech geeks we never tire of trying out new devices. On this occasion we have had the opportunity to enjoy a few days of the Alcatel 3 2019 smartphone , courtesy of its manufacturer. So just like we did with the Alcatel 3X before , we have written a full post detailing our experiences with the product.

Unboxing and design of the Alcatel 3 2019: Alcatel 3 2019, we tested this interesting smartphone

The 2019 edition of Alcatel reference 3 is presented in the typical packaging that we have seen in previous devices of the brand. A simple cardboard box very similar to many others that can be found in technology stores. The rectangular receptacle is white except for the light blue sides . The front of the box has an image with two views of the phone showing the front and back of the terminal. Under the photo of the product a few brief lines of text that indicate the brand and model.

Behind the packaging is reserved to break down the main qualities of the mobile. The sides simply take advantage of the color change to summarize with icons some of the highlights of the Alcatel 3 2019 .

The box has a simple opening that allows quick access to the device and the accessories that come with it. The first thing that is found is the mobile lying on a cardboard crib. Below, separated by a cardboard cover, we find the accessories.

Design

The  smartphone presents an attractive appearance , but not very innovative. It has a comfortable design to sit smoothly in the palm of the hand, with a predominance of the screen on the front, as it is more than 88% of the body of this Alcatel . Its plastic body (with a metal frame ) makes it exceptionally light, weighing only 145 grams . The screen has a size of 5.9 inches , and is in widescreen format . The total measurements of the mobile are 151.1 × 69.7 × 7.99 mm .

Alcatel distributes the model 3 2019 with two housing colors. Both with a glossy , eye-catching finish , with a gradient effect that melts color tones. Options are with Black-Blue and Blue-Purple housing .

The front glass ( 2.5D ) has a really soft touch, which encourages you to use the device without stopping. The design as we say is nothing revolutionary. The structure of the phone is rectangular , with rounded edges . It only has a couple of buttons on the right side , because on the left side it only has a slot for cards . The  bottom edge is reserved for the USB connector and the sound outlet openings. Finally on the upper edge you have the headphone jack .

The screen only has an interruption in the upper dot that keeps the front camera . In the back area the double rear camera is centered , under them the flash , and under this the fingerprint reader .

Technical details of the Alcatel 3 2019

After describing the physical appearance of the phone, we delve into its hardware characteristics .

Screen

The phone has a large screen with the bombastic brand name Super Full View . In short, it is an IPS panel in 19.5: 9 format , with vibrant colors and enough size to enjoy all kinds of uses. In the  5.9 inches Alcatel offers an HD + resolution that reaches a  maximum resolution  of 720 x 1560 .

Performance

Created taking into account the demanding use that smartphones are currently given, the device has been equipped with a processor capable of offering performance in line with the demands of the apps that dominate the download tops . It has an eight-core Snapdragon chip , 4 at 1.8 GHz and 4 at 1.4 GHz . And with different RAM / ROM options , which in the model they have given us are 4 GB and 64 GB respectively. To measure the performance it offers, we have subjected the mobile to the AnTuTu test .

Cameras

Of the Alcatel 3 2019 , its double camera of 13 + 5 MP stands out (interpolated to 16 MP + 5 MP). It also has the help of AI scene detection capable of adjusting the parameters by itself to capture the best images according to the type of moment to be captured. You already know that we love that an image is worth a thousand words, so judge for yourself the quality of the work done by the camera.

Battery

Of the Alcatel 3 2019 we have also loved its  3500 mAh capacity battery . A perfect choice to maintain the balance between lightness of the device and autonomy for the whole day. And is that having a medium / high use of the phone, we have had no problem reaching the end of the day without power problems.

Operating system and connectivity

We conclude this review of the phone by pointing out that it has the well-known Android system to manage its functions. The version installed in the terminal is 8.1 . So this Alcatel has an intuitive use, which is also fluid. The wide storage capacity of this reference allows a great relief, which does not limit the installation of all kinds of applications at all. This terminal should be noted that it has fingerprint protection , and facial unlocking .

Connectivity may be the big but of the model. The WiFi 802.11b / g / n , at this point knows little, like Bluetooth 4.2 . And what about the USB 2.0 port  that is beginning to be a dying breed.
